Tims Dairy

Tim’s Dairy is a food manufacturing company, operating 24 hours a day/7 days a week and approached us about a major issue with the concrete apron at the front of their factory constantly cracking up, due to the large number of tankers and artics delivering goods to them each day.

This presented a significant challenge, as it was essential to Tims Dairy that deliveries continued to happen, but at the same time, the damaged apron needed to be fixed. The client contacted us, and we worked with them to produce an out-of-the-box flexible solution that would allow the works to be done with no hindrance to the regular deliveries, which were essential to the continued operation of the business.

For the design, we worked closely in conjunction with a Structural Engineer, to ensure the new apron would cope with the continued daily deliveries by heavy tankers etc.   The works were carried out over a period of approximately 8 weeks and completed to the full satisfaction of the client. Due to the importance of ensuring the factory operation wasn’t hindered in any way, close and regular communication with client was essential.  Excellent communication in all areas is one of the things that we pride ourselves on, to ensure client’s expectations are met in every way.

Peter Timotheou, Operations Director at Tims Dairy:

“Selo Construction was recommended to me by one of my other contractors, for some major carpark and yard works, as well as some changes to our offices.

I duly met Steve Fry who is the Construction Manager, who I found to be very personable, knowledgeable and above all very trustworthy. He came up with some excellent solutions and using his professional consultants designed and quoted the works we required.

Our premises are in operation 24 hours a day 7 days per week, and there is a large turnaround of articulated lorries, tankers, vans and cars.

The work required the replacement of our very large forecourt which had to stay operational throughout the construction works. Our concerns above all were how this could be achieved and in accordance with Health and Safety.

Selo came up with excellent solutions, always put our needs and business first and their pricing in my opinion, represented good value for money.

The staff who we had on site for over 6 months where hard working, extremely polite and we never had one dispute throughout the whole project.

Steve Fry would visit site regularly to discuss progress, next steps and any changes, or any other business, etc. Invoicing was also carried out in according with our accounting system/terms.

The work was completed on time and to a very high standard and those of us on the Board at Tims Dairy would have no problem recommending Selo Construction Ltd to any possible new clients.”
